Contrast Therapy · Sauna + Ice
Heat, cold, stillness — in 45 minutes.
Step between a full-spectrum infrared sauna and a 6–10°C ice bath. The Outpost's signature reset — deliberate calm under pressure that leaves you recharged and clear-headed.
Support recovery
Cold can help calm post-exercise inflammation while heat lifts circulation to tired muscle.
Sharpen focus
Many people leave the plunge feeling alert and clear-headed for hours.
Build resilience
A repeatable way to practise staying composed under acute stress.
Wind down better
Members often find they settle and sleep more easily afterwards.
The protocol
Three phases, repeated.
Infrared sauna
Full-spectrum heat, 65°C. ~15 minutes to open circulation and loosen the body.
Ice bath
6–10°C, 2–3 minutes. The optimal range to wake the nervous system and reduce inflammation.
Breathe & repeat
Settle, breathe, go again. 45 minutes total, for the complete reset.

Common questions
Is contrast therapy suitable for beginners?+
Yes. First visits are fully guided and you set the pace — you can shorten the cold or skip a round any time. If you have a heart or circulatory condition, are pregnant, or are unsure, please speak to us and your GP first (see our health & safety page).
What do I need to bring?+
Swimwear and a water bottle. Towels and robes are provided. Shower before the plunge — it's part of the protocol.
How often should I come?+
Most members do one to three sessions a week. There's no fixed rule; consistency matters more than any single session.
